Why slime?

Slime is so much more than messy play

Behind every stretch and squish, kids are exploring, creating, and learning. Here is what hands-on slime play can offer, and how we keep it fun without the sticky mess.

What kids get from slime play

Every child is different, but these are some of the benefits families and educators love about sensory play.

๐Ÿ–๏ธ

Sensory exploration

Squishing, stretching and poking slime gives little hands a rich mix of textures, temperatures and resistance. Sensory play like this helps kids notice and describe what they feel, and gives sensory seekers a satisfying, hands-on outlet.

Fine motor skills

Pulling, pinching, rolling and folding slime works the small muscles in the fingers and hands. Those same muscles help with everyday skills like holding a pencil, buttoning a coat and using scissors.

๐Ÿ˜Œ

A calming break

Many kids (and grownups!) find the slow, repetitive motion of kneading slime soothing. It can be a screen-free way to wind down, refocus, or keep busy hands occupied while listening.

Creativity and choice

At our Slime Bar, kids design their own slime by choosing a base, scent, mix-ins and a charm. Making choices and seeing their idea come to life builds confidence and self-expression.

Real science

Slime is a hands-on way to talk about chemistry: how glue's long polymer chains link together when activator is added, and why slime can stretch like a liquid but hold its shape like a solid.

Language and social skills

Slime play invites conversation. Kids describe textures (stretchy, crunchy, fluffy), compare creations, take turns at the toppings and share ideas, all great practice for communication and cooperation.

No sticky mess

Made to be fun, not frustrating

Lots of parents tell us they usually say no to slime because of the mess. That's exactly why we tested recipe after recipe until we had our own soft, stretchy, non-sticky slime.

  • Freshly made and ready to play, no mixing glue at home
  • Soft and stretchy, made to stay off hands and clothes during normal play
  • Every jar comes with care instructions and a small bottle of activator
  • Skip the glitter or load it up, every mix-in is optional

Playing safely

  • Slime is for play only and is never edible
  • Some mix-ins and charms are small parts, so younger kids should be supervised
  • Wash hands before and after playing
  • Keep slime away from carpets, fabric and upholstery
  • Sensitive skin or allergies? Check our FAQ for ingredients before playing
